Park City

Park City is my very favorite place in the whole world! Mom, Dad Heather and I got to go shopping, on the Alpine Coaster, and to our favorite book store on Main Street. Zak had to work, so he couldn't come. (Sorry Zak, we will go again soon!)

More Pigs

This was our Ward BBQ last month. I was totally going to win the pie eating contest... but not quite. I know, its gross.
And this is Zak doing the watermelon eating contest, with Megan trying not to barf.

Things you should never ever say

Me: I finished the ice cream today, so we need more.
Zak: You did? How much was left?
Me: I don't know... a bowl.
Zak: Wow. You're a little piggy!
Me: What did you just call me?
Zak: Well I could have called you pig. Piggy is affectionate.

Right.

Not Disgusting!

For our anniversary, Zak and I pulled the top layer or our wedding cake our of the freezer. I was ready to nibble on it and be grossed out. Year old cake is supposed to be gross, right? When we cut it, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was our favorite kind of cake- PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING! Whoever picked that flavor was really smart! (I did, I picked it, I'm smart).

The moral of the story is: That cake was amazing! It tasted so good, even after one whole year. I am just disappointed that I didn't get to tasted it in all of its freshly baked glory.

MFEO (Made for Each Other)

I am convinced that Zak and I were meant to be together. We would have met each other no matter what. Our paths have crossed so many times that we were bound to bump into each other eventually. For example:

My first brush with Zakness was when I was in 9th grade and he was a senior. My friend had a huge crush on this boy name Zak, that spelled his name in such a cool way. Name spelling is always an important factor in determining the guy you like. She told me how he would give her rides home from school and how much she liked him and how she was sure that he didn't like her back because she was only a Sophomore. She was right- he didn't like her back, poor girl.

We both went to Alta High School, but we didn't meet each other there. We know a lot of the same people, so its fun to swap stories.

We both decided to come to BYU at the very last second. Zak applied on the last day, and I was all set to go to BYU-Idaho until I had a freak out and changed everything 3 weeks before classes were supposed to start.

We both lived in Glenwood (where we ended up meeting) but we were in different wards. Zak was friends with someone in my ward and they came and sang in our sacrament meeting. I thought Zak was cute, but I told myself to stop being shallow at church ( I was in a bit of an anti-dating mood at the time). Just as I was scolding myself, my roommate leaned over to me and and whispered "He is so HOTT!" I had to agree.

When we met we both had the same model of an old crappy Dell laptop that we got for super cheap. Match made in Heaven.

After we were married things kept happening, like the time we parked our cars nose to nose in the Macey's parking lot. We didn't see each other until we were loading stuff into our cars and we realized that we must have been walking right next to each other for a while.

The greatest story yet happened last semester when we were in the Library between classes. I was working in the computer lab, minding my own business, when I looked at the person next to me to find that is was my handsome husband. We had been sitting next to each other for half and hour!

Happy ONE YEAR Zakkie! Its been a good one.

Spring Term

Tomorrow is my Last First Day of School! (For a while at least) Wish me luck. I am sad to be done with BYU. Is there anyway I can make a career out of being a student? I just started to get good at school and now they are kicking me out.

EASTER!

I love Easter! It is my favorite holiday out of ALL of them. I love the symbolism of the day. I love the chocolate, I love that we hide candy all over our house. I love that we celebrate the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I love Ash Wednesday, Lent, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday (Even though I don't really celebrate most of these events, they are still a fun way to count down to spring).
This is my favorite way to die Easter eggs. You drip birthday candle wax on the egg before putting it in dye. It makes cool little bumpy dots. When we were little, we used to call them dinosaur eggs.

My mom made each of us a fudge Easter egg. Very yummy. She gets into Easter as much or more than I do.

We had an Egg Hunt in my back yard with my cousins. Too bad it was to early for flowers- Crazy Spring in Utah.

Look What I Made!

This is my Japanese design that I made in my floral design class. I love love that class, and would recommend it to anyone. The only things that really bug me about this creation is that I used a glass container (its what I had) so you can see all of the moss in the bottom, and some of the fern is a little out of control. Other than that, I'm so proud of myself!

My Weekend Plans

This is what I have to look forward to this weekend- Watching Zak sleep. Isn't he cute? Notice the little purple earplugs. Poor boy.

Goodbye Old Friend

It was a sad day a couple of weeks ago when Snelgrove announced that it would be stopping its production. I made Zak take go with me to 4 different grocery stores to find my favorite flavor-cookies 'n' cream. Of course, we had to document this momentous occasion.

Yummmmmm!

More Reviews

Licence to Wed: This was ok. I wanted to see it because Jim was in it. Zak got it for me when I was sick (so nice of him!) There were some funny parts, but mostly just eh... The robot babies were creepy. Good birth control.

I am Legend:
Yikes. I like Will Smith, but I didn't like this flick. It was super scary to me. It made me jumpy and I ended up not seeing most of it because my eyes were shut. Needless to say, it was a Zak choice movie. He liked it, but the whole concept freaked me out.

Movies!

I'm not the biggest fan of cold weather and I try to counter the thing I don't like with something I do like- WATCHING MOVIES! Its just something that I'm really good at. Here is my very educated opinion:

Enchanted:
I loved this movie! I thought it was super cute. The chick is a red head, which is awesome. I saw it with my mom and sister. It was a very cute, girly movie.

Bucket List:

I loved, LOVED this movie. So good. Good actors, good story, good funny, good feelin. I hope I have this kind of attitude when I am old and I hope Zak has crazy old man hair like Jack Nicholson.

Thats all for now. More later.

Tag

I got tagged by Karla a while ago, so here are 6 things about me.

Oh ps- here are the rules:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Thing 1: I used to be a dancer. I love LOVE doing ballet, but pointe shoes gave me horrible blisters all over my feet. We weren't allowed to use any padding in our shoes so we could "feel the floor." I could feel it alright. My friend, Whitney, and I came up with an excellent form of foot therapy for our aching feet and blisters. Every night after a long ballet class we would go to my house and flush our feet in the toilet. (We would bleach it first of course.) I love the feeling of the cold water swirling around my toes. I have thought about trying it recently, but I just can't justify sticking my foot in there without sufficient injury first.

Thing 2: I have the gift of saying the perfectly wrong thing in all situations. My mouth gets going down I15 before my brain even backs out of the garage. I apologize to all of you that I have ever said these dumb, insensitive, naive things too. I'm sorry for being rude and for spilling your secrets. It just comes naturally to me. The latest example of my big mouth is this:

Last Sunday, I was helping my mom deliver neighbor gifts to her friends in the ward. I took one to a man in the ward that I really admire. He is divorced and takes care of his two little kids. I didn't expect him to remember me, but he did and he asked how "married life" was treating me. When people ask me this question I usually tell them that "I recommend it," just to be silly. When I said this to him, I immediately knew that it was the WRONG THING TO SAY. He just kind of chuckled and said, "Well, I like being married, she just didn't want to be married to me." I felt so stupid, rude and insensitive! Sorry cool guy from the ward- I will do better next time.

Thing 3: I have crazy bendy elbows. I was double jointed to start, but I broke my right arm when I was 7 and that helped it bend even more.

Thing 4: I got my first pair of glasses when I was in Preschool. By the time I was 7 the eye doctor told me that I had to go outside and play instead of reading books all the time because my eyes were so bad. By the time I was 10 I had the same prescription as my dad, and they said that they usually make this strong of prescriptions for people that wear bifocals (aka: not 10 year olds.) They told me that I had to get "hard" contact lenses to keep my eyes from getting any worse. Now, I am legally blind without my glasses or contacts.

Thing 5: When I was little I always wanted to have "Ariel bangs" just like the little Mermaid. Now I do!

Thing 6: I like to keep things nice, but I often take it an extreme. When I was in second grade, I got a big beautiful new box of crayons. I thought they were so cool that I didn't want to mess them up. I wouldn't use them and if I did, I would color very lightly and I would be sure to put them back in the same spot to keep them nice. I recently found my beautiful box of crayons. There were about 7 that had still never been used, and I am only missing one out of all original 96.

Thats all of my deep dark secrets. I tag Zak, Megan, Randy, and Heidi. I know that this is not 6 people, but My blogging world is small and I can't tag every one! Then there would be no game left.
